Seems like it will never end. But the sun (when it is out) feels warmer, and it’s light outside when I leave for work.
So what’s happening around town now that I’m willing to peek outdoors? Well, like the daffodils which rise under the snow, activity at Oregon Together has continued.
A few important events for everyone in town to enjoy…
FIRST.. Lady and the Tramp, Saturday, Feb. 16th at the Oregon Coliseum
This Disney classic has been released for the first time in many years….and will be shown at this month’s Free Movie Night on Saturday the 16th . Doors open at 6 pm with show time at 6:30. Come see this classic animated romance story with the whole family. Kids are welcome to come in pj’s, sleeping bags and pillows for a good ol’ movie time with friends. Concessions available. No outside food or drink please.
SECOND: DANCE THE NIGHT AWAY! Saturday night, February 23 from 6:30 pm til 10:00 pm.
“Get out of the house, kick off your shoes, and dance away the winter blues.” Oregon Together presents a social evening at “The Stache”. In the rear of Scoops (117 N. 4th Street) is a remarkable venue few have had the opportunity to experience. Ticket price includes refreshments (cash bar also available), appetizers, many raffle prizes from local merchants, and two hours of DANCE INSTRUCTION in line dancing and ballroom dancing. You will then have the confidence to step out onto the dance floor with that “special person” at future fun outings. 102.3 The Coyote has also donated two tickets to an upcoming Eric Church concert to be raffled this same evening.
Advance tickets are $25 per person, or $40 per couple. Available at Chamber of Commerce, Scoops, Hoppers Poppers, Hazel’s Cafe, and Merlin’s. An additional $5 will be added to tickets purchased at the door. This event is a fundraiser for OREGON TOGETHER to support projects which improve the quality of life in our favorite town.
THIRD: The Third Annual Oregon Chocolate Walk. Thursday night, April 18th from 4:30 pm til 8:00 p.m.
A chance to walk the town, enjoy the warmer evenings with added sunlight. Grab a punch card and map, then visit dozens of local merchants and business to become re-acquainted with everything our community offers. Each participating business will have a special chocolate treat for visitors as well as information about the services and variety of merchandise they offer. Look for special deals and unexpected finds. Those who complete the punch card will have their name entered in a raffle for one of several fabulous gift baskets.
Keep checking back to see of other news and events you can be a part of in the City of Oregon.
